What is it with these things? I have a finch feeder and a regular bird feeder. Initially, I had plenty of finches as well as various types of other gorgeous birds. Then the doves started homesteading. They eat the finches' leftovers & eat the regular birdseed like its a pizza buffet. The other birds hardly have a shot. These things are docile enough I guess, but once you've seen one dove you've seen them all.
Hi BJ, We have Mourning Doves also.. They are always in TWO's I think!!! Beautiful birds.
About the chicks and hens, YES--they live all winter --but are much more alive and colorful during the other seasons. They spread nicely--and you don't have to do a thing with them. They don't even like alot of water. They do better in sun I think... We have them in various places around the yard. Anymore questions, just email me (betsyadams@mac.com).
We had a wonderful trip to the Smokies. You'll have to check out my blog today. Hugs, Betsy
